In 2005 she won the Silver Medal for sculpture in the ARC International Salon.

Chris Mikulasek specializes in figure and portrait sculptures and drawings. She has studied the human figure as an anatomist and creative artist for over twenty years. Her expressive figures and portraits have won many awards and are included in collections throughout the United States and Europe.

Chris is also an accomplished craftsman who had a foundry for many years and learned thoroughly the work of producing fine bronze sculpture. She taught lost-wax casting and figure sculpture at Monterey College in California for three years, and has for over a decade taught portrait and figure sculpture workshops in Italy, Mexico and at her farm studio in Shelton, Washington in America.

In 1994, Chris moved to Pietrasanta, Italy, to learn marble carving from the master carvers there.

In 1998 Chris Mikulasek was awarded the Alex Ettl Prize by the National Sculpture Society, for "notable achievement in American Sculpture through a distinguished body of work."
